Injury news is some of the worst news in sports and the Boston Red Sox were treated to less than perfect injury news after their loss to the New York Yankees.
The Boston Red Sox aren’t having a great day. First they lost on the road against the New York Yankees. This one would probably be pretty bad on its own, but once you add in some injury news and things get worse for Boston fans.
That’s right, the injury news is bad. But what’s worse than the injury news? Well, injury news for different players. That’s right, the Red Sox have to figure out what’s going on with Matt Barnes and with Xander Bogaerts.
This is less than ideal.
Unfortunately for the Red Sox, Boston had to lay off Barnes and it’s not entirely clear how long Bogarts will be affected due to a tight hamstring. According to a tweet from MLB.com’s Ian Brown, Barnes was hoping he could get out and play on Saturday.
As we now know, that didn’t happen.

However, due to the injury he sustained on Thursday, Barnes ended up staying out of action. Brown also noted that Bogarts was hoping he could play.
He was in the suit, but didn’t look good because he went 0 for 3 on Saturday by three strokes and walked.
It’s not entirely clear when either of them will be available to Boston again, but there’s no doubt Red Sox fans will surely appreciate it if the people on their roster are going to start getting healthy sooner rather than later.
